Magnitude 4.1 aftershock jolts Surigao del Sur
MANILA — A magnitude-4.1 aftershock jolted Surigao del Sur on Friday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The agency said the aftershock occurred 1:03 p.
m. on Friday and its epicenter was traced 60 kilometers southeast of Cortez in Surigao del Sur.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a shallow depth of 151 kilometers.
The agency said no damage was reported from the quake.
In its bulletin, the agency said the aftershock was a result of the magnitude 5.
6 quake in offshore Surigao last May 30.
