Lapeña to impose one strike policy at Customs

Published

on

The newly assigned chief of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Isidro Lapeña won’t show any stint of tolerance not even once in the corruption at the Bureau of Customs while he is in governance.

Lapeña said he would apply the approach of a one-strike policy to the fraudulent administrators and personnel and he will look into dismissing those alleged corrupt officials given that they undergo a validation process.

Furthermore, Lapeña vowed to end the practice of “pasalubong” or welcome gift in the agency.

“I will exercise zero tolerance against corruption in the bureau… the policy now is ‘no take no give’ policy. No tara policy,” he said.

The newly appointed chief added that he would start with a clean slate using incumbent officials who are fully aware of the work at the BOC and he would appoint new faces in some offices that had been corrupted.
