MANILA — Ran or Shine nails a 51-point win against Alaska Aces with Import Arizona Reid dropping 48 points during the 2014 PLDT Home Telpad PBA Governors’ Cup at the Philsports Arena.

The aces fell a long way behind Rain or Shine when Reid dropped 17 points during the second frame. This was after a 10-point warm-up start during the first quarter leaving the first half scores at 60-43.

“AZ is always aggressive. It’s just that he was making his shots, his timing was right, his teammates found him at the right time,” Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao said talking about his import.

PBA Head Statistician Fidel Mangonon III said Reid’s 5-of-8 triples was hit in the fourth most lopsided victory in PBA history, paving the way for Painter’s biggest winning margin in franchise history.

Mangonon also added that it was the worst loss in 28 years since Shell defeated Tanduay, 154-100 in 1986.

“It’s one of those days where everything you do is right and the opponents, everything they do is wrong,” said a surprised Guiao after the game. “We didn’t expect it to be this way. We expected a really close game against Alaska, that’s their character. It can happen to any team. We still have a lot of respect for this team,” Guiao added.

After the game, Alaska fell to 2-4 win-loss record while Rain or Shine climbed to 3-3
