F2 Logistics beats Iriga City in PSL volleyball tourney
MANILA— F2 Logistics pulled off a 25-19, 25-12, 25-17 victory over newcomer Iriga City on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Imports Kennedy Bryan and Maria Jose Perez scored 14 and 12 points, respectively for F2 Logistics, which will face the winner between Cignal and Cocolife in the sudden-death semifinals scheduled on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
F2 Logistics Ramil de Jesus stressed the need to win every match.
“We’re building confidence going into the semis. We want to be at our best going into the semifinals. Cignal and Cocolife are also tough. You simply can’t just count them out. We’re sure they also made their respective adjustments for the semis,” said De Jesus.The Cargo Movers, who led 39-32 on attacks and 5-1 on defense, also got nine points from Kianna Dy and six points from Majoy Baron.
“We also played against them last week, so we already have an idea on how to beat them. We just repeated what we did in our first meeting,” said De Jesus.
Serbian import Tamara Kmezic topscored for Iriga City with 15 points while Japanese Saama Miyagawa chipped in 10 points.
