American singer-songwriter and multiple Grammy winner Michael Bolton rejoined his “Bolt of Talent” co-host Morissette Amon on stage as he launched his Asian Dream Tour at the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Manila last Friday.

According to a report of ABS-CBN, Bolton reunited with Amon in a special duet of “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,’ Bolton’s No. 1 hit which he wrote in 1983, along with Doug James.

In the early part of the show, the Kapamilya singer helped limber up the audience for Bolton, as she sang her heart out to her single, “Diamante,” Beyonce’s “Love on Top,” and the “Wicked” showstopper “Defying Gravity.”

The popular “Stand By Me,” and Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody,” was sang by Bolton on stage which quickly transformed the capacious ballroom into a colossal jukebox.

Although it was obvious that Bolton was already having a hard time retaining high notes due to his age, this doesn’t affect his powerful vocal chops which the singer has largely sustained, particularly in the mid-range.

Bolton continued to sing his covers with his hit version of Otis Redding’s “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay,” “You Don’t Know Me,” and a melancholic performance of “Sweet Home Chicago.”

After an instrumental performance, Bolton rejoined Amon in the limelight as the audience howled with delight when the two singers sang the ‘80s power ballad.

Aside from Amon, Bolton was also joined on stage with female singer Sam Fly on the Motown classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and on “The Prayer.”

Michael bolted the audience out of the blue as he sang “When A Man Loves a Woman” in the crowd area. He made his way back to the stage for his hit “How Can We Be Lovers,” before finishing the performance with the upbeat “Steel Bars.”

Bolton and his band came back but for only one more heartfelt cover of “Georgia on My Mind.”

Amon, for her part, was extremely happy to share this experience on her Instagram account.

“GETTING TO SING WITH AN INTERNATIONAL AWARD-WINNING ARTIST IS SOMETHING ONE DOES NOT EXPERIENCE EVERDAY, and I’m just eternally grateful I was given this chance to share the stage with THE #MichaelBolton last night at his #AsianDreamTour concert!!!!” the Kapamilya singer wrote as caption of her photos with Bolton.

“It’s been months since I saw him last from working on #BoltOnTalent, and it wasn’t ‘til I got to the venue yesterday that he surprised me that we were going to have a duet (yes at the last minute) of one of his greatest hits #HowAmISupposedToLiveWithoutYou.. so imagine my panic before the concert!” she added.

Amon said she was just so happy and humbled at the whole experience. She wholeheartedly expressed her gratitude to the American singer-songwriter as it has been such an honor and pleasure for her to work with Bolton.

“Manila is just the first stop of the tour and I’m only excited (and jealous at @misterlance, halfmeant HAHA) for the rest of the cities that have yet to experience your magic live and personal.. all the best to the whole team and again as we say in our country, “Salamat [Thank you]!” Amon ended.
