MANILA, Philippines—‘Queen Mother’ Karla Estrada took a stroll down memory lane and reminisced the humble beginnings she and her son, actor Daniel Padilla, knew.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Estrada shared a photo of a very young Padilla in a white school uniform taken during his graduation from the UP Preparatory School.

“After mo mag tumbling tumbling dyan sa damuhan nag picture tayo [After you did handsprings in the grass, we took a picture],” Estrada wrote.

In the photo, Padilla can be seen sitting on a tree stump.

A white plastic bag is beside him, hanged from a tree branch.

“Sinabit ko muna yung sandwich mo na nasa supot na puti sa sangga sa tabi mo [I hanged your sandwich placed inside the white plastic bag from a tree branch beside you],” Estrada wrote. “Pagkatapos nyan, laro ka na uli [After that, you played again].”

Noong sapat lang ang buhay para sa ating mag ina ay maligaya tayo [When life was adequate for us mother and son, we were happy],” she added.

The simple life Estrada and Padilla had was seen in a positive light by the former.

Although they didn’t live an extravagant life when Padilla was younger, they were happy and content. Estrada draws inspiration from this experience now that they fare better today.

Kaya dapat sa buhay na masagana, dapat walang dahilan na hindi tumawa. Ipagdiwang natin ang kontento at masayang buhay mga anak [That’s why in a lavish life; there shouldn’t be no reason to laugh. Let’s celebrate content and happy life, children],”she wrote.
