MANILA — The military is not discounting the possibility of sympathy attacks of terrorists following the recent killing of Omar Maute and terror leader Isnilon Hapilon Monday during a series of clashes with government forces in Marawi City.

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs Office chief, Col. Edgard Arevalo said the military is ready to thwart any possible retaliatory attacks.

Arevalo said the military actively coordinates with concerned sectors, local government units, and the community in the fight against terrorism.

On Monday, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said the bodies of the two terrorist leaders would be subject to DNA test, noting that these two have bounties on their heads from foreign countries.
