China to donate USD3-M worth of engineering equipment to Marawi
MANILA — The People’s Republic of China (PRC) will be donating some USD3 million worth of engineering equipment for the proposed rehabilitation and reconstruction of war-torn Marawi City.
This was confirmed by AFP public affairs office chief Col.
Edgard Arevalo, adding that they are yet to receive detailed information on the composition and arrival of the Chinese donation.
Fighting in Marawi City started after government troops tried to arrest Isnilon Hapilon and his cohorts last May 23.
Last week, China, through Ambassador Zhao Jianhua, gave a PHP5 million check to troops engaged in the ongoing clearing operations against Maute Group remnants in Marawi City.(PNA)
