Police: Kian had 2 gunshot wounds in head
MANILA — The 17-year-old Kian Loyd Delos Santos had two gunshot wounds in the head, the PNP Crime Laboratory said Wednesday.
Kian was shot dead during an anti-drug operation in Caloocan City last week.
“There are two gunshot wounds pareho po ninyo makikita sa ulo. Ang una po sa tenga mismo, yun sumusunod that is nasa likod ng tenga.
Both are gunshot wounds (na) nag-exit,” said Dr. Jane Monzon, PNP Crime Laboratory Medico-Legal Office officer-in-charge.
The bullets, she said, entered the left side of the head and exited on the right side.
Monzon explained that the bullets were shot from a downward angle, noting that lack of soot or stippling indicates that the distance of the gun or pistol barrel from the victim’s body is more than 60 centimeters.
She added that they were unable to get a urine or blood sample from Kian because his body has already been embalmed before the autopsy was done.
Four police officers were implicated in the incident — PO3 Arnel Oares, PO1 Jeremias Pereda and PO1 Jerwin Cruz and the precinct commander, Chief Insp. Amor Cerillo.
They were placed under restrictive custody as investigations are being conducted.
Initial reports indicate that the victim was shot after he allegedly fired his gun at the officers.
However, Kian’s family belied the claim. A CCTV footage also showed the boy being dragged by alleged cops before the shooting happened. (PNA)
