The Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday allowed all accredited Transportation and Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers to operate under two ride-sharing companies, MYTAXI.PH Inc. (Grab) and U-hop during suspension period, allowing Uber drivers to operate again.

“Now, therefore, the board resolves to allow Uber’s TNVS, during the period of suspension, taking into consideration those who were accredited by Uber Systems Inc., to be accommodated by either of the two accredited Transportation Network Companies, namely MYTAXI.PH Inc. Grab U-Hop,” the LTFRB resolution read.

The resolution was signed by the LTFRB Chairman Martin B. Delgra III, Board members Ronaldo F. Corpus, Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada, and attested by the Executive Director Augustine M. Vestil Jr.

In order for Uber drivers to operate under the two ride-sharing companies, they should submit proof of accreditation issued by Uber and proof of insurance coverage as TNVS.

On Thursday, Uber filed another pleading where it offered to pay a fine amounting to P10 million and offering financial assistance to the afflicted drivers to reprieve the suspension.

However, the regulator denied the company’s appeal and released the Board Resolution No. 19.

“The decision of the board is based on the urgency of public service, particularly the riding public, for their convenience and benefit as well as the TNVS who were displaced because of Uber’s irregular conduct,” it stated.

The LTFRB board suspended the Uber’s accreditation as well as the online booking application for a month due to several violations it committed.

“On a daily basis, either Grab or UHop will email us the list of the names of the TNVS coming from Uber. On our end, we will double check it with the list given by Uber to us to ensure that only those accredited by Uber will be accommodated,” LTFRB spokesperson Attorney Aileen Lizada told reporters.
