MANDALUYONG CITY — The MRT-3 management issued yet another public apology on Thursday over a recent incident in Shaw Boulevard station involving some of its personnel holding tarpaulin signs for long hours.
The train management said Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez has ordered the relief of the erring station supervisor who made the cruel order, who will also undergo an appropriate investigation and face corresponding sanctions.
“DOTr-MRT-3 also apologizes to the personnel who were asked to carry the said tarpaulins. That is not part of their function and no personnel shall be treated that way,” the management said in an advisory.
“We assure our commuters that corrective measures are being undertaken to prevent similar incidents from happening again, and we remain committed to upholding accountability, efficiency, and respect in all our operations,” it added.
Earlier this week, the management also faced criticism at the same station over an unnecessary signage displayed on functioning escalators saying “Each step you climb is a gift to your heart, lungs, and muscles”, which the management has also promptly apologized for.
