OTTAWA, Ontario — Prime Minister Mark Carney shared Monday the fruitful results of his first-ever visit to Doha, Qatar, noting the similar nature between the two countries as “ambitious builders” and global “forces for peace and stability.”
During his visit, Carney met with the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and discussed the growing and strategic Canada-Qatar relations that continuously open potential opportunities to deepen diplomatic, security, development, cultural, and economic ties.
“So we’re going to cooperate more on AI, tech, and defence, and make it easier for Canadians and Qataris to do business together,” Carney wrote in a post.
“This is a new, strategic partnership that will create more innovation, more opportunities, and more prosperity for both our peoples,” he added.
