NGCP restores 5 transmission lines, 5 still down

MANILA – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has restored five transmission lines in the Visayas and Mindanao, while two others are partly energized, and five are still unavailable due to the impact of Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi).
In an advisory early Wednesday, the NGCP said the Nabas-Unidos 69kV line, which services Aklan Electric Cooperative (AKELCO), was restored at 11:02 p.m. Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the other transmission lines that were restored as of 10 p.m. Tuesday are the Nabas-Sapian 69kV Line that caters to the Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AKELCO); the Nabas-Culasi-Bugasong 69kV Line that serves the Antique Electric Cooperative (ANTECO); the Amlan-San Carlos 69kV Line that services Negros Oriental 1 Electric Cooperative (NORECO I) and NORECO II; and the Bislig-Pob Barobo 69kV Line that caters to the Surigao del Sur 1 Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SURSECO I).
Two lines are partly energized, namely the Ormoc-San Isidro 69kV line that services the Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORELCO), Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative Inc. (SOLECO), LEYECO III, LEYECO V, and the Biliran Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BILECO); and the Ormoc-Baybay 69kV line that caters to LEYECO IV.
However, those that remain unavailable are the Maasin-Baybay 69kV Line, which caters to the Leyte IV Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO IV); Calongcalong-Asturias 69kV Line that services the Cebu III Electric Cooperative (CEBECO III); Compostela-Consolacion 69kV Line that services CEBECO II; Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV Line that caters to the Negros Electric and Power Corporation (NEPC) and Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO), and the San Jose-Bugasong 69kV line, which caters to the ANTECO.
“There are also three (3) 138kV and one (1) 230kV line, which are currently unavailable,” the NGCP report said, but no other details were given.
“NGCP has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting patrols. Simultaneous restoration activities are also being conducted in areas already accessible,” it added.
