18 July 2025, Ottawa – The Philippine Embassy in Canada welcomed officials from the Commission on Audit (COA) who arrived in Ottawa on 5 July 2025 to conduct a periodic audit of the Embassy’s financial transactions, accounts, and program operations.

The COA audit team is led by Assistant Commissioner Nilda Plaras, accompanied by State Auditors Reina C. Aguilar-Afos and Milagros C. Hadap. Their visit forms part of COA’s mandate to periodically audit the accounts and assess the performance of Philippine government agencies, including embassies and consulates abroad.

During their visit, the COA team reviewed various operational and financial aspects of the Embassy’s work. Assistant Commissioner Plaras and her team expressed their appreciation for the Embassy’s full cooperation and support throughout the audit process.
