PHILIPPINE EMBASSY WELCOMES FILIPINO-CANADIAN EDUCATOR AND AUTHOR DENISE OROSA

11 July 2025, Ottawa – Today, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Rea Oreta welcomed Ms. Denise Orosa at the Philippine Embassy in Canada. Ms. Orosa is an award-winning Filipino-Canadian educator and co-author of Once Upon the Sun and Sea. Born and raised in the Philippines, Ms. Orosa has worked with children for over 20 years as a teacher, artist and storyteller.
The Embassy collaborated with Ms. Orosa in October 2024 during a shadow play and storytelling event and workshop in celebration of Philippine National Indigenous Peoples Month, and during the Embassy’s Paaralan sa Pasuguan, a 2-day summer camp for Filipino-Canadian children, in August 2024.
The Embassy looks forward to continuing its partnership with Ms. Orosa in future cultural initiatives that promote Filipino heritage and creativity in Canada.
