Quebec City, July 2, 2025 – The City of Quebec is inviting professional artists to submit a proposal for a public artwork to be featured in the second facility of the Centre de la petite enfance (CPE) Roc-Amadour, called La Maison d’Albert. This facility will be located in the heart of the Lairet neighborhood, within the borough of La Cité-Limoilou.

The artwork should integrate with the architectural concept and mission of the CPE, an urban childcare center focused on nature and serving a multiethnic community. It should be primarily intended for children aged 0 to 5, in a context of learning and socialization.

Additionally, the artwork should be stimulating and offer multiple levels of interpretation that are accessible to young children. Finally, it should have universal appeal to resonate with all cultures.

The selected artwork will be integrated into a section of the exterior wall along the sidewalk leading to the main entrance of La Maison d’Albert.

Competition Details
The competition is being launched under the Policy for the Integration of Arts into the Architecture and Environment of Government and Public Buildings and Sites. It is open to professional artists whose residence or studio is located in the Capitale-Nationale region. To be eligible, applicants must be registered in the Ministry of Culture and Communications’ artist database.

The total budget for the creation of the artwork is $30,166 CAD, taxes included. The installation is planned for summer 2026.

Interested artists can review the competition guidelines and registration details at: ville.quebec.qc.ca/artpublic
