Public invited to sign condolence book for victims of the tragic incident that took place at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival

Following the horrific events at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival on April 26, 2025, the City is inviting community members to share messages of sympathy and support. These messages—submitted either in person or online—will be collected and bound into a single book of condolence to honour those affected.

The City extends its deepest condolences to the Filipino community and all those affected by this tragedy, and shares in the grief being felt across the city.

Community Support

The City has been working closely with Filipino BC and members of the Filipino community to provide support and remains committed to working alongside them in their journey towards healing.

Mobile Community Support Centre

Vancouver Police are providing in-person support at a Mobile Community Support Centre for those impacted by the mass casualty incident:

  • Location: 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street
  • Time: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

This is a safe space to access emotional support, resources and connections to investigators. For those unable to attend, VPD professionals are available by phone at 604-717-3321.
