Standing Strong for Filipino Canadians – A Stronger Canada with Mark Carney

The Filipino community in Canada has always been a pillar of hard work, resilience, and dedication. We contribute to this country’s success, and we deserve leadership that stands up for us in times of crisis. Today, our economy and our future face new challenges, but with strong leadership, we can rise above them.

As we wrap up the first week of the campaign, it’s clear that leadership matters. President Trump’s unfair tariffs are threatening over 500,000 Canadian workers, including many in industries that employ Filipino Canadians. His goal? To weaken Canada so that America can own us. We won’t let that happen! Mark Carney and the Liberal team are standing up for us, with a clear plan to fight back, protect our workers, and build a stronger, more independent economy.

Here’s what a Mark Carney-led Liberal government will do:

• Protect Jobs & Strengthen Our Economy – Investing $5 billion into the Trade Diversification Corridor Fund to create new jobs, build essential infrastructure, and reduce our reliance on the U.S.
• Cut Taxes for the Middle Class – Putting more money back into the pockets of hard-working families, saving up to $825 per year, without adding to the deficit.
• Support Filipino Workers & Businesses – Fighting against unfair U.S. tariffs and building a stronger Canadian supply chain to protect industries where many of us work.
• Invest in Our Future – Rebuilding, reinvesting, and strengthening Canada’s Armed Forces to protect our country at home and abroad.

It’s easy to make bold promises, but without a real plan, those promises don’t get delivered. Pierre Poilievre claims he will cut income taxes by 15%, but he hasn’t explained how he will replace the billions in lost revenue without cutting services that families rely on. In the past, Conservative tax cuts have often favoured the wealthy while leaving the middle class behind. Worse, without a plan, these promises can lead to higher deficits or deep service cuts, something we can’t afford.

Mark Carney, on the other hand, has spent his career managing economies at the highest levels. As a former Governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England, he knows how to implement tax relief responsibly without sacrificing essential programs or driving Canada deeper into debt. His plan ensures that Filipino-Canadian families get real financial relief while keeping our economy strong.
