MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. retained majority support with trust and satisfaction ratings exceeding 60 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024, even as Vice President Sara Duterte’s ratings dropped below the majority threshold for the first time, OCTA Research said Tuesday.

The Tugon ng Masa survey, conducted from Nov. 10 to 16, 2024, showed that the President recorded a trust rating of 65 percent and a performance rating of 64 percent for the fourth quarter of 2024.

The November figures represent a slight dip from the third quarter’s 69 percent trust and 66 percent satisfaction ratings.

“The majority of Filipinos continue to trust and are satisfied with the performance of President Marcos, Jr.,” OCTA said.

Meanwhile, Duterte’s trust rating fell by 10 percentage points to 49 percent.

Duterte’s performance rating also declined to 48, down by four points from 52 percent in the previous quarter.

These figures mark her “lowest ratings” since December 2023 and reflect a “continuing downward trend”, according to OCTA.

“This is the first time both the trust and performance ratings of the Vice President have fallen below the majority threshold,” the research firm said.

Marcos saw his highest trust and satisfaction ratings in Balance Luzon and among respondents in Classes ABC and D.

Duterte, meanwhile, performed best in Mindanao and among Class E respondents.

Senate President Francis Escudero and House Speaker Martin Romualdez continue to be trusted by the majority with trust ratings of 63 percent and 58 percent, respectively.

In terms of performance, Escudero also recorded a 65 percent satisfaction score, while Romualdez garnered 59 percent.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo remained at the lower end, with only 10 percent trust and 8 percent satisfaction.

The survey, based on face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents, has a margin of error of ±3 percent at the national level.
