S.Korea PM to still serve people after martial law lifting
By Yonhap, Philippine News Agency
SEOUL – Prime Minister Han Duck-soo vowed Wednesday to continue to serve the people after a martial law order was lifted overnight.
Han’s remark in a written address to the public followed speculation Cabinet members could resign to take responsibility for President Yoon Suk Yeol’s declaration and then lifting of martial law earlier in the day.
“I understand the people’s anxiety is great,” the prime minister said, claiming a strong sense of responsibility for the “entire process” leading up to the current situation.
“I ask the Cabinet to fulfill your responsibility together with the public officials of all ministries to ensure the people’s safety and everyday lives are maintained without the slightest wavering,” he added.
“Until the last moment, I will serve the people by pooling the wisdom of our Cabinet members.”
