MANILA – Some 3,000 vacancies will be available during the two-day special job fair for workers affected by the ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Tuesday.

In a statement, the DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) said the job fair will be held from Nov. 19 to 20 at the SM Mall of Asia-Music Hall in Pasay City.

“Initially, a total of 16 local employers will participate, providing a diverse range of jobs, like sales consultants, cashiers, receptionists, encoders, drivers, delivery helpers, service crews, and more,” the statement read.

At the same time, the DOLE-NCR advised applicants to pre-register via the link: https://tinyurl.com/projectdapat, for hassle-free application process.

Interested applicants are also encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and other required pre-employment documents to the job fair.

Aside from the job fair, the DOLE said a one-stop-shop service in the venue will be put up.

The participating government agencies include the Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Social Security System, Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Bureau of Internal Revenue, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police, Philippine Statistics Authority, Professional Regulation Commission, and Philippine Postal Corporation.

Last October, the DOLE held simultaneous special POGO job fairs in Parañaque City and Makati City, where 340 POGO workers registered to participate in the special job fairs with 33 hired-on-the-spot.

The events were participated in by 108 employers, who offered 13,744 jobs.

The holding of special job fairs is in connection with the directive to the department to look for employment opportunities for employees, who are likely to lose their jobs due to the POGO ban.

The DOLE earlier said there are 79,735 POGO workers (Filipinos and foreigners) to be displaced.
