MANILA – A delegation from the French nuclear industry will be visiting next week to engage with public and private sector leaders in the Philippines, the French Embassy in Manila said Friday.
The delegation will be in the country from Nov. 12 to 15 and will participate in the Philippine International Nuclear Supply Chain Forum to be hosted by the Department of Energy (DOE) in Quezon City.
The group is made up of representatives from the French nuclear industry main player, including Electricité de France (EDF), Europe’s largest electricity production and distribution company; Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA), a nuclear technology research and development organization; and the Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN).
The French National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (ANDRA) will also take part.
During the forum, the embassy said the delegation would present the main characteristics that make the French nuclear industry unique.
France’s nuclear power share of the electricity mix is the highest in the world (72 percent with 62 GWe).
