MANILA – The net satisfaction rating of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. improved to a “good” +40 in June from “moderate” +29 in March, based on a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Friday.
The survey, conducted June 23 to July 1, showed that 62 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied, 22 percent were dissatisfied, and 15 percent were neutral with the general performance of the current national administration.
The June 2024 net satisfaction rating of +40 marks an 11-point increase from the March 2024 rating.
According to SWS, the administration was rated “very good” on helping disaster victims (+64), improving children’s education (+62), and helping the poor (+51).
The Marcos administration received “good” ratings on implementing housing programs for the poor (+47), developing science and technology (+46), creating policies that will generate job opportunities (+45), ensuring an efficient public transportation system (+38), and ensuring food security (+35).
The government received a “moderate” remark on preparing for problems being caused by climate change (+29), defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+22), and ensuring that no family will ever be hungry and have nothing to eat (+18).
The administration, meanwhile, scored poorly on fighting inflation (-16) and eradicating graft and corruption (-10).
It also received “neutral” ratings for handling crime and oil price regulations.
The administration’s net satisfaction rating saw improvements across all regions, with the highest in Metro Manila at +52 followed by Balance Luzon at +48, the Visayas at +32, and Mindanao at +25.
“The 11-point rise in the national administration’s general net satisfaction rating from March 2024 to June 2024 was due to increases in all areas,” SWS said.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,500 adult respondents across the country.
The sampling error margins are ±2.5% for national percentages, ±4.0% for Balance Luzon, and ±5.7% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
