Over 12,000+ Guests are Expected to Celebrate the Largest Filipino Event: Pinoy Festival: Panahon na para Magsaya 2!

Burnaby, BC- Are you ready to experience the largest Filipino Festival in British Columbia? Celebrate Filipino Heritage Month at the Pinoy Festival: Panahon Na Para Magsaya tomorrow, June 22, 2024 from 8:30am to 9pm at Swangard Stadium, Burnaby for a day filled with vibrant cultural festivities and at no cost to the public.

With an expected attendance of 12,000+ individuals from across the Lower Mainland, including a significant representation from the Filipino community, our festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of Filipino culture, heritage, and community spirit. As June marks Filipino Heritage Month, this event serves as a platform for cultural exchange and community engagement for Filipinos across our region.

  • What: Pinoy Festival: Panahon na para Magsaya 2 (Come join the fun)! 2024

  • When: Saturday, June 22nd, 8:30am to 9pm
  • Where: Swangard Stadium, 6100 Boundary Road, Burnaby, BC
  • Who: Confirmed special guests include BC Premier David Eby, MP Harjit Sajjan, MP Taleeb Noormohamed, MLA  Anne Kang, MLA Janet Routledge, MLA Raj Chouhan, MLA George Chow, MLA Teresa Wat,  Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, New Westminster Mayor Patrick Johnstone and local Councillors from across the Lower Mainland, Sammie Jo Rumbaua (Chair of Mabuhay House and Vice Chair of Pinoy Festival

Following is the general program for the day:

  • 8:30am – Filipino Zumba

  • 10am – Cultural Community Parade
  • 11am – Official Opening and Cultural Program with special guests
  • 3pm – Grand Santacruzan (cultural procession)
  • 5:30pm to 6:30pm – The Filipino Channel Happy Hour with Martin Nievera (Concert King of the Philippines)
  • 6pm to 9pm – Filipino live bands

This builds on the success of our inaugural festival last year at Burnaby’s Civic Square in Metrotown organized by Pinoy Festival Alliance and Mabuhay House Society. The festival also celebrates the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Philippines and Canada and the many contributions of Filipino-Canadians in the country.
