MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday appealed to supporters of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to be calm and allow the police to perform their duties as law enforcers.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo made the call after Quiboloy’s supporters barricaded in front of the KOJC headquarters in Davao City on Monday to prevent the police from entering the compound and serve the arrest warrant against him.

“So ang pakiusap natin ay maging mahinahon tayong lahat. Ang inyong kapulisan ay nandoon (Our call for everyone is to be calm. The police are there) for the official discharge of their duties. Walang anumang hangarin ang ating kapulisan na magkaroon ng anumang sakitan at anumang pagkakagulo (Our police do not intend to cause any form of violence of chaos),” she said in a press briefing in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Quiboloy has three standing arrest warrants for child and sexual abuse issued by the Davao City Regional Trial Court and human trafficking issued by a Pasig City court. These cases are non-bailable.

Police officers went to five of Quiboloy’s properties in Davao starting Monday dawn, hoping to find him and five of his co-accused– Jackielyn W. Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada and Sylvia Cemañes.

Fajardo said they have yet to get updates on the results of the police’s search of these areas.

“There is no indication so far that Pastor Quiboloy has already left the country because there is no confirmation yet from the Bureau of Immigration. The mere fact that they are simultaneously implementing warrants of arrest is an indication that we believe that he is still here in the country,” she said.
