Phivolcs records Taal phreatic events for 3 days
MANILA – Taal Volcano’s main crater had a short phreatic event Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The state seismologist’s Main Crater Observation Station recorded the “short-lived” phreatic event at 8:54 a.m.
It lasted about 3 minutes and produced a 300-meter steam plume that drifted west-northwest.
The Phivolcs said it has recorded a total of three phreatic eruptions since May 13.
Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano.
