Burnaby, BC – All roads will lead to the Pinoy Festival in Burnaby this June 22nd declared Filipino leaders from more than 60 community organizations today.

“We’re confident we’ll have an even greater turnout and a more unforgettable celebration than last year.  The Pinoy Festival is part of Filipino Heritage Month and it’s where we’ll showcase an array of exciting presentations highlighting Filipino culture and traditions.  Along with a Community Parade, Cultural Performances, a Filipino Marketplace (Tiangge), a Grand Santacruzan and a Filipino Rock Concert – new features this year are a Filipino Zumba Session, a Beer + BBQ + Music Garden and a Family Fun Park with Bouncy Castles and traditional Filipino games.  It’s sure to have something for everyone!” says Pinoy Festival 2024 spokesperson Liberty de Vera.

The Pinoy Festival is an annual event and last year’s festival drew more than 10,000 attendees from across the Lower Mainland.

The Pinoy Festival 2024 is organized by the Pinoy Festival Alliance in partnership with the Mabuhay House Society and in cooperation with the Benguet Society of BC, INARTE, the Ateneo Alumni Association of BC, Bisayan Alliance in BC, Pinoy Pride, the Vancouver Hinirang Eagles, the Inter-City Basketball League, the Burnaby Filipino Cultural Society and Brgy. Burnaby.
“As we come together to rejoice in our cultural heritage, we are also reminded of the need for a permanent home where our community can gather, connect, and thrive.  The Pinoy Festival is a display of our growing Filipino Community in numbers. With more and more families moving here from the Philippines, more students going to school, more entrepreneurs moving to BC – we’re among the fastest-growing immigrant groups that contribute much to this province and country.  We deserve a provincial Filipino community cultural centre and are committed to working even harder towards this goal,”  says Sammie Jo Rumbaua, Mabuhay House Society Chair and Pinoy Festival 2024 Co-Chair.  The Mabuhay House Society has been working closely with the provincial government towards the development of a Filipino community cultural centre.

The Pinoy Festival 2024 will be held June 22nd at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby and it is a free family-friendly event supported by the City of Burnaby.
