Manila announces road closures ahead of 2023 Bar exams
MANILA – Several streets around the University Belt in Manila will be closed on Sept. 17, 20 and 24 to make way for the 2023 Bar examinations to be held at the University of Santo Tomas and San Beda University.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) announced the closure of Dapitan Street (St.) from Lacson Avenue (Ave.) to Padre Noval St., the two eastbound lanes of Legarda St.
from San Rafael St. to Mendiola St., both lanes of Mendiola St. from the Peace Arch to Malacañang, and both lanes of Concepcion Aguila St. from Mendiola to Jose Laurel St.
These roads will be closed on the said dates from 3:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In addition, the two westbound lanes of España Boulevard from Lacson Ave.
to Padre Noval St. will close on the said dates from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“Heavy traffic is expected in both areas on the said dates,” the MPIO said.
In a separate advisory on Facebook, the Quezon City government warned motorists of heavy traffic on roads near the University of the Philippines – Diliman on the same dates due to the Bar examinations.
While there will be no road closures, the Quezon City government said heavy traffic could be expected along University Ave., C.P. Garcia Ave., Katipunan Ave., and Commonwealth Ave. from 3:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. during these three days.
“Pinapayuhan ang mga motorista na dumaan sa mga alternatibong ruta (Motorists are advised to take alternate routes),” it said.
