Ex-mayor is new MMDA exec for operations
MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed David Angelo Vargas, a former mayor of Aliaga in Nueva Ecija, as the new Assistant General Manager for Operations of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
In a statement Thursday, The MMDA acting chair Don Artes welcomed Vargas, describing him as “the perfect fit” for the post.
“His extensive leadership skills and exceptional attitude make him the perfect fit for the post,” Artes said.
Vargas replaced Victor Pablo Trinidad who previously served as the officer-in-charge for Operations.
During his oath of office, he vowed to deliver “swift” public service.
“My notable experience in the local government has honed my capabilities as a public servant. Hence, I will serve Metro Manila residents with integrity and compassion for the betterment of the metropolis,” he said.
Trinidad, meanwhile, has been designated as OIC of the Office of the Assistant General Manager for Planning at the MMDA.
Before his appointment, Vargas served as mayor of Aliaga from 2019 to 2022.
He also served as a councilor from 2013 to 2019 and a representative of the Sangguniang Kabataan from 2010 to 2013 in the same municipality.
He graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Trinity University of Asia in 2010.
