Village, youth poll registrants top 750K: Comelec
MANILA – More than 750,000 individuals aged 15 years and above have applied as regular and youth voters for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) set on December 5.
Citing the latest data as of Wednesday, acting Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the poll body received a total of 757,316 applications for registration since the voter registration period resumed on July 4.
The poll body said of the figure, 473,565 are aged 15 years to 17 years, 250,529 of whom are female while 223,036 are male.
Registrants aged 18 years to 30 years numbered 242,633, with 127,307 male and 115,326 female applicants.
For the 31 years old and above age group, the Comelec received 41,118 applications. Of the number, 20,336 are male and 20,732 are female.
The region with the most number of applications received for the 15 to 17 age group is Region 7 (Central Visayas) with 52,121 – 24,484 of whom are male and 27,637 are female.
Region IV-A (Calabarzon) has the highest number of applications for the 18 to 30 age group with 40,862, broken down into 21,727 males and 19,135 females.
The highest number of qualified voters aged 31 and above was recorded in the National Capital Region with 9,293, divided into 4,340 males and 4,953 females.
On the other hand, the poll body said they have recorded 133,829 applicants for transfer from other cities/municipalities; and 32,466 applicants for transfer from within the same city/municipality.
It also logged 5,650 applications for transfer with reactivation; 1,941 applications for transfer with reactivation and correction of entries; and 6,922 applications for transfer with correction of entries.
A total of 38,832 applied for reactivation while 8,961 applied for reactivation with correction of entries.
A total of 25,4278 have also applied for change of names/correction of entries while 33 have applied for inclusion of record in the Book of Voters.
The commission also received 13 applications for reinstatement of name in the List of Voters, as well as 2,364 applications for transfer from overseas voting to local.
The poll body said 1,013,805 applications have been processed from July 4 to 11.
The nationwide voter registration period is set to end on July 23.

This means our population is really booming,I just hope that the voters list will be streamlined to those who are really qualified to vote.No double records,no “dead” voters,a quality election starts with gathering the correct and qualified voters.
