PH Covid-19 recoveries reach 2,171,832
MANILA – With 20,171 new recovered cases reported on Monday, the overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide rose to 2,171,832.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), the figure is equivalent to a 91-percent recovery rate among those who contracted the disease nationwide.
The DOH also tallied 18,937 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 176,850.
Of the active cases, 92.7 percent are mild, 2.7 percent are asymptomatic, 1.4 percent are severe, 2.61 percent are moderate, and 0.6 percent are in critical condition.
The DOH also logged 146 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 36,934.
It said 70 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 51 of these are recoveries.
The 53 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
All laboratories were operational on September 18, 2021 and five laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.
Based on data in the last 14 days, the five non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 1.6 percent of samples tested and 1.7 percent of positive individuals.
To date, 77 percent of 4,400 intensive care unit beds, 67 percent of 21,000 isolation beds, 71 percent of 15,800 ward beds, and 57 percent of 3,400 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use nationwide.
In Metro Manila, 79 percent of 1,600 intensive care unit beds, 63 percent of 4,600 isolation beds, 72 percent of 4,300 ward beds, and 60 percent of 1,200 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are being used.
