‘I need to start vocalizing:’ Rachelle Ann Go set to come back as Fantine in Les Misérables concert
Rachelle Ann Go is gearing up for her return as Fantine in the “Les Misérables” concert in London.
The Filipino theater actress will begin performing for the concert on her birthday, August 31, according to the show’s official Instagram account.
It said that Rachelle “will once again dream the dream as Fantine for SIX SHOWS ONLY.” Singer Lucie Jones will take over the role on September 5 for the final performance.
Commenting on this announcement, Lucie said, “My gal! Wish I could come and watch you again,” referring to Rachelle.
Rachelle, meanwhile, expressed her excitement for the show as she also shared the good news on her Instagram account.
“I’m performing from August 31st-September 4th. What a treat! I hope Lukas won’t mind,” she wrote.
Rachelle shares another role with her character Fantine who has a daughter in “Les Misérables”; being a mother. The theater actress and her husband, Martin Spies, welcomed their first child, Lukas Judah Spies, in March 2021.
“PS. I need to start vocalizing & most importantly ‘pump’ for Lukas,” she added.
The couple marked their third wedding anniversary in April as a family of three.
Apart from the “Les Misérables” stage, it can be recalled that Rachelle was also cast to play the role of Gigi Van Tranh in “Miss Saigon” and Eliza in “Hamilton.”
