Tom Rodriguez says he had COVID-19, recovered from it ‘a little over a week’ ago
Actor Tom Rodriguez has now answered messages he got from others about his social media hiatus:
“That was because I was taking some time off and trying to recover because I had tested positive for Covid,” he revealed in a video he posted on Instagram.
He underwent quarantine “a little over four weeks” before he beat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The actor said he contracted the virus while he was shooting for a movie out of town. Tom took an antigen swab test, which yielded a negative result, but his fiancée, actress Carla Abellana, still urged him to take a PCR test before going back home
“Buti na lang I took her advice and hindi muna kami nagkita non (Good thing I took her advice and we did not see each other for the meantime). So there was no chance I infected her when I did test positive,” he said.
Tom said he had “very mild symptoms” and that it was “very manageable.” He did not experience having loss of smell or taste, and because of that, he was able to “eat and boost my immune system.”
“I’ve been clinically recovered for, let’s say mga a little over a week,” he said.
“It’s great to be feeling better and back to work,” he added.
The actor said he is currently under quarantine again in a hotel for a GMA television show, “The World Between Us.”
“I’ll be taking a PCR test in the next few days, and when I’m cleared for that, I’m gonna be heading to our final lock-in location,” Tom continued.
Tom will be starring alongside Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis-Smith in the drama series.
