PH Covid-19 recoveries total 903,665 out of 997,523 cases
MANILA – The country’s coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recovery tally exceeded 20,000 anew on Sunday, raising the total to 903,665 or a 90.6 percent recovery rate from a cumulative 997,523 cases.
The 20,509 new survivors, as of the 4 p.m. data of the Department of Health (DOH), were a bit lower than Saturday’s 22,877 but still made a significant impact in the country’s drive to beat the pandemic.
The DOH also logged 8,162 new infections, bringing the total number of active cases to 77,075, or 7.7 percent of total infections.
Of the active cases, 95.5 percent are mild, 1.5 percent are asymptomatic, 1.2 percent are severe, 0.84 are moderate, and 1.0 percent are in critical condition.
An additional 109 deaths, meanwhile, pushed the death toll to 16,783 or 1.68 percent of total cases.
Data submitted on Friday likewise showed that 16.7 percent of 47,970 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.
Currently, 65 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 47 percent of 13,600 isolation beds, 53 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 46 percent of 2,000 ventilators are utilized by patients with Covid-19 nationwide.
Meanwhile, 72 percent of 700 intensive care unit beds, 58 percent of 3,800 isolation beds, 66 percent of 2,200 ward beds, and 61 percent of 800 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use in the National Capital Region.
