UST named School of the Year for 7th time in PH Quill Awards
MANILA – The University of Santo Tomas, the country’s only Royal and Pontifical University, won the coveted School of the Year Award for the seventh time, conferred during the 8th Philippine Student Quill Awards last March 25 via Youtube livestream.
Through the efforts of students from the Faculty of Arts and Letters and the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences, the Tiger Media Network, as well as the Varsitarian, the official student publication of UST, the University claimed six excellence awards and 15 merit awards.
Here is the list of the entries feted with the Excellence Award:
1) CovidComms2020: #LifeAfterUST by Kathya Karmela de Leon – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
2) CovidComms 2020: #USTeXP: The UST Minecraft Tour by Ashley Faustine de Mesa – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
3) Recruitment 101 Campaign #UnravelTheGlory by Madelaine D. Bernardo – Communication Management, Student Entry division.
4) #TigerTakeover by Pia Ericka Torres – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
5) Pinarang Sining by Rona Alondra Agulto – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
6) The Varsitarian – Sports Infographics by Faith Yuen Wei N. Ragasa – Communication Skills, Student Entry division.
Meanwhile, de Leon and Bernardo’s respective shows were feted with Top Award in its category.

Organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, the Philippine Quill and the Philippine Student Quill Awards honor exemplary communication research, programs, skills, and creative work.
The IABC vetted the entries through its global standards that measure the brightest and the sharpest in the communication industry.
