No voter registration on last 4 holidays of 2020: Comelec
MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Friday that there will be no voter registration on the last four holidays of the year.
In an advisory, the poll body said all its offices nationwide will be closed on Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) and Dec. 30 (Rizal Day), both regular holidays and on Dec. 24 and 31,
“There will be no voter registration on the remaining special (non-working) days and regular holidays of the year, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 845, s. 2019,” it added.
It added that there would be no transactions with the public, including the issuance of voter’s certification, as all offices of the Commission on Elections nationwide will be closed on these dates.
The last day of voter registration for this year is on Dec. 29. It would resume on Jan. 4, 2021.
Voter registration is from Mondays to Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all Office of Election Officers (OEOs) nationwide.
Friday has been designated disinfection day unless the local government unit prescribes a different disinfection day.
It also reminded the public that health protocols are being strictly imposed in all Comelec offices amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.
