ABS-CBN, hailed as Best TV Station in Platinum Stallion and Rawr Awards
DZMM voted Radio Station of the Year by Trinitians
ABS-CBN continues to be recognized as the best TV network in the country after bringing home the top awards in this year’s LionhearTV Rawr Awards and Platinum Stallion National Media Awards despite its absence on free TV.
ABS-CBN was crowned as TV Station of the Year at the RAWR Awards for the sixth consecutive year, where it was commended for being creative and adaptive in serving its audiences even after the shutdown of its broadcast operations due to the nonrenewal if its legislative franchise.
The readers of LionhearTV and members of the blogging community and media industry who sent in their votes for this year’s awards also honored Kapamilya shows and personalities led by “It’s Showtime,” which was named Trending Show of the Year and “Love Thy Woman,” which was chosen as Bet na Bet na Teleserye.
Vice Ganda also won Pak na Pak na Comedian, Angel Locsin was hailed as one of the Most Admired Celebrities, and Toni Gonzaga was awarded with Favorite TV Host for the digital show “I Feel U.
”
Completing the winners at the Rawr Awards are former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate and Star Hunt artist Fumiya Sankai (Beshie ng Taon), “Isa Pa With Feelings” lead actress Maine Mendoza (Actress of the Year), “Ghost of the Past” (Movie ng Taon), and the tandem of Kyle Echarri and Francine Diaz called “KyCine” (Loveteam of the Year).
The winners of Rawr Awards, which is now on its sixth year, are selected based on the combined total votes of Fans-and-Readers (33%), Blogging community and Industry leaders (33%), and from third-party analytics (33%). It aims to honor and recognize “the Best and the Brightest in the Philippine Entertainment industry since 2015.”
Meanwhile, the Trinity University of Asia (TUA) community affirmed their belief and support for ABS-CBN as a multimedia network as it also awarded ABS-CBN.com as Digital Media Network of the Year while DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 was recognized as AM Radio Station of the Year.
Broadcast icon Noli De Castro from ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast “TV Patrol” also won Male News Personality of the Year while ABS-CBN News reporter Jervis Manahan received the Trinitian Media Educator for Broadcast Journalism award as an outstanding member of the TUA faculty.
This is the sixth staging of the Platinum Stallion National Media Awards, which is organized by the Media and Communication Department of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education of TUA and participated in by students, alumni, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders of the university.
