Filipinos are working hand in hand to send help to their countrymen affected by typhoons that hit the Philippines, with Typhoon Ulysses being the latest one to wreak havoc just a few days after Typhoon Rolly did. Photos of some areas in the country submerged in flood, while some people were left stranded in their roofs waiting to be rescued are circulating on social media as netizens continue to call for help.

Seeing how much devastation the typhoon caused to the country, it is impossible to just sit back, do nothing, and wait for help to arrive. Many have taken the initiative to organize various donation drives that a person probably has encountered while scrolling through their social media feeds recently. While some are helping to collect monetary and in-kind donations, others are showcasing their talents to raise funds and among them are local artists who, through exchanging their art, are supporting two organizations.

As shared by netizen @lucsbalucs on Twitter, Artists for #UlyssesPH are opening illustration and lettering commissions where all proceeds will be given to For the Future (FTF) PH, whose beneficiaries are priority areas directly hit by Typhoon Ulysses, and to the relief efforts of Tulong Kabataan for the people of Cagayan.

Those interested must check first this catalog for the minimum donation amount they should give which will depend on the commission type they will choose. To submit an order, go to this link but they should note that they can only make one request per form.

Once the commission has been confirmed, donations can be sent to any of the donation channels of FTF or Tulong Kabataan. The screenshot of their fund transfer must be sent as a reply to the artists’ confirmation message.

Their request will be then forwarded to the artist of their choice and the receipt of their commission will be sent within five to seven days. Artists for #UlyssesPH said that the commissioned art is for personal use only and that they will not be entertaining any revision. The group will accepting commission requests from November 14, Saturday, to November 20, Friday.

Another artist, @nellaboop, also opened slots for “icon” commissions. The profits she will be getting from this will all be donated to the Frontliners’ Kitchen, an organization helping rescuers, first responders, as well as victims of Typhoon Ulysses.

Meanwhile, Twitter user @xeiracreates is hoping not only to help victims of Typhoon Ulysses and Typhoon Rolly, but also to provide food for homeless animals within Cavite area this Christmas using the extra funds she will earn from her art for a cause.

To find more artists doing donation commissions, you can search #artph or #ArtForACause on Twitter. Whether they have or have no financial assistance to give, netizens could still help these artists with their initiatives by retweeting their posts. Below are more art-for-a-cause-related tweets:
