DOH reports 88.9% Covid-19 recovery rate

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday said the country’s recovery rate from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is now at 88.9 percent.

Meanwhile, the total number of active Covid-19 cases in the country is now at 9.2 percent or 36,260 after logging 2,157 new cases.

The total cumulative number of Covid-19 cases is 393,961.

The provinces or cities with the most number of newly announced cases are Quezon City with 115, Davao City with 107, Rizal province with 105, Bulacan with 102, and Cavite with 82 new cases.

Of the total number of active cases, the Health Department said that 83.7 percent are considered mild cases while 10 percent are asymptomatic, 4 percent are critical and 2.3 percent are severe.

The DOH also reported 24 new deaths bringing the total number of deaths to 7,485 or 1.90 percent.

It also conducted a Covid-19 test Friday on about 24,518, of which 1,711 or 7 percent tested positive.

The DOH continuously reminds the public to strictly follow imposed minimum public health standards at home and in the community at all times to effectively contain the spread of Covid-19.
