Chinese gov’t donates boxes face masks, face shields to BOC
MANILA – The Chinese government, through its Ministry of Public Security (MPS), donated over 40 boxes of face masks and face shields to the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
The donation from the MPS of the People’s Republic of China was received by Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero together with Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Group (IG) Raniel Ramiro, during the turnover ceremony on Friday at the OCOM Conference Room, Port of Manila, the BOC said in a statement.
“Consisting of 20 boxes of face masks and 22 boxes of face shields, the personal protective equipment shall be used in ensuring the safety and health of the men and women of the Bureau in the delivery of efficient public service,” the BOC said on Saturday.
“As the government’s primary arm involved in the movement of essential commodities, the BOC shall maintain an undisrupted supply chain despite the threats of the pandemic,” it added.
Guerrero thanked the MPS and the government of China for the donation.
The MPS was represented by Chen Chao, Police attaché of the Embassy of China, and Li Le, Deputy Police attaché of the Embassy of China.
On the other hand, the MPS commended the BOC for its unwavering commitment to the facilitation of goods despite the great risks in the face of Covid-19.
It also recognized the BOC as an effective law enforcement agency in the area of international trade and commerce.
