DFA records 6 more Filipino Covid-19 cases overseas

MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported six more cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) among Filipinos abroad, raising the total to 10,417.

It also logged eight more recoveries in the Asia Pacific and two in Europe, bringing the count overseas to 6,629. Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 779 after one new fatality was recorded in the Middle East/Africa region.

The active cases are currently pegged at 3,009, at least 332 of whom are recovering in the Asia Pacific, 189 in Europe, 2,322 in the Middle East/Africa, and 166 in the Americas.

To date, the Middle East remains to be the region with the most number of confirmed Covid-19 cases at 7,068, recoveries at 4,248, and fatalities among Filipinos at 498.

The Americas, on the other hand, has the least numbers in all categories compared to other geographic regions with 166 active cases and 463 recoveries, except in the total number of deaths.

There are about eight fatalities in Asia and the Pacific while there are 178 in the Americas.
