Overseas Filipinos with Covid-19 now 9,569

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday reported 13 more Filipinos abroad infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total tally to 9,569.

In its latest case bulletin, the DFA said the new cases were mostly from the Asia and the Pacific.

“Compared to yesterday’s percentages, the total number of those who have recovered from Covid-19 slightly increased to 58.2 percent of the total confirmed cases. While those who are under treatment decreased to 34.8 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of those who died due to the disease remained at 7 percent,” it said.

The total number of recoveries is 5,572, the total tally of deaths is 671.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,326 Filipinos abroad are still undergoing treatment.

“As reported last night, the DFA has repatriated a total of 115,793 since the first Covid-related repatriation flight arrived from Wuhan in February 2020. The DFA eyes to safely repatriate an estimated 100,000 nationals abroad within the next two months, keeping in mind the prevention of the further spread of Covid-19 infections in our country,” the DFA said.
