The lead actors of the 2018 romance-comedy film “Through Night and Day” couldn’t be more grateful for the positive feedback they have been receiving from viewers recently.

The movie, which the audience said has brought them so much feels, tears, and realizations, earlier took a spot on the Top 10 in the Philippines Today list by the streaming giant Netflix.

“Trending pa rin ang #throughnightandday. Walang hanggang pasasalamat sa lahat ng nagrerecommend at nagpropromote (#Throughnightandday is still trending. A never-ending thanks to those who are recommending and promoting it),” actress Alessandra de Rossi said in a Tweet.

Kasi magisa lang akong nagpromote nyan noon. Di ko naman kaya yun. Ano? Superstar? Char. Thank you ulit, my heart is melting (Because I was the only one who was promoting it before. I cannot do it. What am I? A superstar? Joke. Thank you again, my heart is melting),” she added.

In another tweet, the actress shared a screenshot, showing that the film placed at the top of the list.

Commenting to this, she said, “Ay. Taray. Never ako nag top 1 nung elementary. Ito na yata yun (Wow. I was never a Top 1 student during my elementary days.

This might be it).”

“Through Night and Day” was released in Philippine cinemas in November 2018. Although it earned praises for the actors’ superb performances and the film’s tear-jerking storyline, among others, at the time it was released on the big screen, the amount of attention it is receiving nowadays is on another level after it was released in Netflix earlier this month.

Netizens could not stop talking about the film, with some of them sharing what life lessons they picked up from it.

Others, on the other hand, were being video recorded as they cry over the movie.

Sharing a video of her crying after she watched the film, netizen @itsyaniiie said, “Grabe ka miss @msderossi iyak pusa ako (You are too much miss [de Rossi] I kept crying like a cat) HUHUHU.” Quote retweeting her tweet, de Rossi replied in jest, “Tulungan natin sya (Let’s help her).”

Meanwhile, the lead actor of “Through Night and Day,” Paolo Contis, expressed his gratitude through an Instagram post, saying, “Maraming Salamat sa mga nanood, nanonood, at manonood pa lang (Thank you very much to those who watched, who are watching, and who will watch [the movie])!!”

Aside from “Through Night and Day,” Contis’ other movie, the 2018 comedy film “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap,” also dominated Netflix’s Top 10 Movies in the Philippines list.

“Through Night and Day” follows the story of Ben, played by Contis, and his fiancée Jen, played by de Rossi, who went on a trip to Iceland, where their relationship was tested. It was directed by Veronica Velasco, with Noreen Capili being the screenwriter for the film.

De Rossi earlier revealed that she was supposed to write “Through Night and Day” since she already completed the story in her mind, but due to the pressure of being the leading lady of a project before, the actress was not able to write the script so she asked Capili to do it instead.

De Rossi said she was pressured after reading Capili’s script, saying it was “100x better” than what she can do. She added that she was really impressed by Capili’s script that she feared she might ruin the film, but having Velasco as the director, made the actress feel at ease.

Hindi talaga kaya pagsabayin lahat. I’m happy na wala akong pressure during the shoot (It is really not possible to do everything at the same time. I’m happy because I did not feel any pressure during the shoot). I’m happy we picked the right people. Thank you God for bringing us all together,” she said.

Salamat at worth it yung pagpapakalbo ko. Kasi 4 lang nanood sa cinema. Salamat sa lahat ng nanood ngayon (Thank you because it was worth it to have my head shaved because there were only four viewers who watched it in the cinema. Thank you to everyone who is watching right now),” she continued.

De Rossi has left a piece of advice to those who have yet to see “Through Night and Day” on Netflix, “‘Pag di mo tinapos ang movie dahil nababadtrip ka na kay jen agad, talo ka sa patience test. At talo ka sa lessons (If you don’t finish the movie because you are getting annoyed with Jen, then you just lost in the patience test, especially in lessons).”

Take her advice and a box of tissue with you — just in case — if you are going to watch the film.
