MANILA – The Pasig City government discharged 15 patients who recently recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in time for the Father’s Day celebration on Sunday.

The patients who contracted the diseases were housed at the Pasig’s Centralized Quarantine Facility at the Rizal High School.

“They will be reunited with their families. Sakto sa (timing on) Father’s Day!” Sotto said in a Facebook post.

The facility staff also prepared food packs and cakes for them so they can enjoy the Father’s Day occasion.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, Sotto noted that the mortality rate in the city has gone down and the recovery rate continues to soar.

“Magandang sign ho yan na pakonti ng pakonti ang laman ng centralized quarantine facility natin. Pinagdadasal po natin ang inyong mabilis na paggaling at pag-recover (It’s a good sign that the number of patients in our centralized quarantine facility is decreasing. We are praying for your fast recovery),” he said, noting that this month alone, more recovered patients have been released from the quarantine facility.

Pasig has already discharged 16 patients on June 12 and another seven on June 16.

Sotto lauded anew health care professionals, security, utility and other front-liners for untiringly serving the quarantine facility and admitted patients.

Sotto also encouraged residents not to discriminate those who have contracted the dreaded disease and should welcome them back to the community without hesitation.

As of June 19, Pasig City recorded a total of 730 positive cases, 429 recoveries and 79 deaths.

Sotto reminded the residents to stay at home, practice safe physical distancing, proper handwashing, and always adhere to the city’s preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease.
