21 new Covid-19 cases among overseas Filipinos, 5 deaths: DFA
MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday logged 21 new cases and five deaths related to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among overseas Filipinos (OFs), bringing the total to 5,490 and 395, respectively.
The total number of recoveries is now 2,369 with three new reports in the Middle East.
“As we continue to face this pandemic, the DFA, along with its 94 Foreign Service Posts, assures its continued service and assistance to the Filipino people in these trying times, whenever they are, whenever possible,” the DFA said.
The active cases among the Filipino community overseas stand at 2,726 — at least 107 in the Asia Pacific, 481 in Europe, 1,873 in Middle East/Africa, and 265 in the Americas.
