Filipinos abroad with Covid-19 now over 5K

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reports more recoveries among Filipinos abroad than new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases at 39 and 29, respectively.

This brings the overall recoveries to 2,205 and the tally for confirmed cases to 5,259.

On the other hand, it recorded seven new deaths in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa, raising the number to 354.

“The DFA, through its Foreign Service Posts, continues to monitor the status of our nationals and stands ready to assist returning Filipinos affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” DFA said in a statement.

Currently, 2,700 overseas Filipinos are undergoing treatment–132 in the Asia Pacific region, 455 in Europe, 1,840 in the Middle East/Africa, and 273 in the Americas.
