2 workers from Loblaws store in Toronto test positive for COVID-19
A Loblaws store in downtown Toronto, the old Maple Leaf Gardens, reopened on Monday after “a thorough deep cleaning and sanitation” after two of its staff workers tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
It was on Sunday evening when Loblaws confirmed that two of its employees from its 60 Carlton St. (at Church) site tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. Both individuals did not show any symptoms of the virus while working and the management said that the two last worked on May 13 and May 18.
“We understand that you may have questions and want to assure you we take your safe, and the safety of our team, very seriously,” the management wrote.
“We have a number of protocols in place at the store-level, including daily sanitization and social distancing practices to minimize the risk of exposure to our customers and team members,” it further said, adding that it will be working the local public health team “on any further directions.”
