Overseas Pinoys with Covid-19 now 2,504

MANILA – The overall tally of overseas Filipinos with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) abroad has reached 2,504 after 43 more confirmed cases were reported on Friday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

Of the total confirmed cases, five new recoveries were recorded in the Americas, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East. The total now stands at 866.

Meanwhile, two new deaths were registered in the Middle East, raising the toll to 287 – two in the Asia-Pacific region, 87 in Europe, 49 in the Middle East/Africa, and 149 in the Americas.

At least 1,351 Filipinos are currently undergoing treatment for Covid-19 – 127 in the Asia-Pacific region, 455 in Europe, 567 in the Middle East/Africa, and 202 in the Americas.

“The latest figures represent a global picture of countries in different stages of the Covid (-19) story, where Europe and (the) Middle East still have the highest number of Covid-19 Filipinos; Asia and the Pacific has (the) fewest number of cases; while the Americas still has the number of fatalities,” the DFA said in a statement.

Based on DFA figures, 456 cases are in the Asia Pacific Region, 770 in Europe, 719 in Middle East/Africa, and 559 in the Americas.f
