Covid-19 recoveries among overseas Filipinos now 307
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported 12 more recoveries among overseas Filipinos infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total to 307.
“Based on the latest figures, the rate of new recoveries at 4.07 percent remains higher than the rate of new deaths at 1.
89 percent,” DFA Assistant Secretary Eduardo Meñez said.
Of the 1,122 confirmed cases across the Americas, Asia, and the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East/Africa, the DFA said 653 are undergoing treatment while 162 have died.
At least 90 of the deaths were reported in the Americas, two in Asia and the Pacific, 57 in Europe, and 13 in Middle East/Africa.
In a statement, Meñez assured that the DFA continues to monitor the situation of Filipinos abroad amid the coronavirus crisis.
“The DFA, through its Foreign Service Posts, continues to monitor the status of our nationals abroad and remains proactive in rallying the support and cooperation of our people in observing measures against Covid-19.
Together we heal as one,” he said.
