Backstreet Boys set to perform in Manila for DNA Tour
American vocal group The Backstreet Boys, composed of AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell, have announced that they will be dropping by Manila on October 28 in honor of their DNA World Tour.
The former best-selling boy band have yet to announce the venue and ticket sale details of their tour, but they did announce in a Facebook post that they will also be dropping by Tokyo on October 12 and 13, Osaka on October 16, Macau on October 19, Taipei on October 22, Bangkok on October 24, Jakarta on October 26, and Singapore on October 30. Manila Concert Scene also shared the band’s tour poster on Facebook.
The boys followed the announcement up with a video, where they can be heard saying, “Hello Asia! We’re bringing the DNA World Tour to you this October,” captioned, “Asia! We heard you. We are so excited to bring the DNA World Tour to you this October!”
The last time the band was in the Philippines was in May 2015, where they performed in front of their Filipino fans at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.
The Backstreet Boys rose to fame in 1994 with their debut album entitled “Backstreet Boys.” They rose to fame for tracks like “I Want it That Way,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” “Quit Playing Games,” and “As Long As You Love Me.” In May 2018, they celebrated their 25th year anniversary, telling NME Magazine, “Backstreet Boys, we don’t stop. We just keep going,” adding, “We’re known as a vocal band first so when you hear those signature sounds of us singing together, you know what it is. The production is obviously ever-changing, being that music evolves and goes through different fads, but it’s just good, timeless music. We like using both real instruments and sampled sounds, so it’s a mixture of both. It’s a well-rounded sound. When you hear us singing together, fortunately, you just know it’s the Backstreet Boys.”
